IT Support Technician

South AfricaPermanentCloses 22 November 2026, 16:03

Be the first line of technical support for our packhouse, cold store and head-office users, keeping laptops, networks and business systems running.

About the role

Two-a-Day depends on technology that works every day of the season, from office laptops and shared printers to scanners, label printers and networked devices on the packhouse floor.

We are looking for a practical, patient IT Support Technician to join our small IT team. You will be the face of IT for hundreds of users across several sites, resolving incidents quickly, setting up new starters and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

This is a hands-on role. You will split your time between the service desk and walking the floor, so you should be comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues in plain language.

Responsibilities

Log, triage and resolve incidents and service requests through the helpdesk system.
Provide first and second line support for Windows laptops and desktops, Microsoft 365, email and printers.
Set up, configure and allocate new laptops, mobile devices and user accounts for new starters.
Reset passwords, manage user access and maintain Active Directory accounts.
Support network equipment such as switches, Wi-Fi access points and VPN connections.
Support rugged devices, barcode scanners and label printers used in production areas.
Maintain the IT asset register and keep documentation up to date.
Escalate complex issues to the systems team with clear notes on what was tried.
Assist with backups, patching and routine maintenance outside peak hours when required.

Required

  • Matric with an IT qualification or diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Two years of experience in an IT support or service desk role
  • Windows 10 and Windows 11 troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 administration and Active Directory
  • Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi and VPN
  • Strong customer service, communication and ticket management skills
  • Valid driver's licence and own transport to travel between sites

Preferred

  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft MD-102 or equivalent certification
  • Experience supporting barcode scanners, label printers or industrial devices
  • Experience in a manufacturing, agriculture or food production environment
